Kawamata Onsen, also known as "Hito" is located near the northwestern part of Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture,
from the Kinugawa Source Current It is a hot spring resort in the midst of lush mountains, located in the Nikko National Park.
In the surrounding area, there is a contrast between the lush greenery and the rocky valley and
you’ll enjoy the view that can’t be seen in ordinary days.
You can see a geyser where you can see that the source is blowing out as it is,
Setoai-kyo Canyon where the scenery of the autumn leaves is so beautiful,
and "100 selections of Tochigi scenic spots" is also nearby, and it is the same as the tourist destination representing Japan.
As it is in Nikko City, there are many tourist facilities such as Nikko Toshogu where many foreigners visit, and Nikko Edomura
where you can get in touch with old Japanese culture.
Hot water gushing forth among rocks creates breathtaking scenes. It gushes every 1 hour a height of 20 to 30 meters. An observatory platform and footbath facilities are available.
You may be able to take an auspicious one with a rainbow over the geyser that blows out like the picture. It takes 3 minutes from Kura.
If the room in Kura is close to the geysers, you can also see the scene blowing out from the window.
There are various waterfalls around Kura.
Go to the vicinity of each waterfall and experience the effects of stress relief and relaxation by negative ions.
It's also very nice to take a walk on a mountain path before soaking in a hot spring and soak in hot water slowly after such a light exercise to heal fatigue.
On the way from Kinugawa Onsen Station to Kura, Setoai-kyo Canyon is located ahead of several tunnels on prefectural road No.23.
Setoai-kyo Canyon is an eroded tuff valley which is about 2 kilometers long, surrounded with cliffs of 100 meters in height.
This place is especially famous for colorful autumn leaves and selected as one of the 100 most beautiful scenes in Tochigi.
If you head to the top of the mountain further than here, head for the hiking course from the end point of the municipal bus ""Meotobuchi"" and you will reach Okukiinu Onsenkyo.
Further behind the hot spring Okukinu Onsenkyo, there is a Kinu-numa called ""Tenku marsh"" means above the sky marsh, near the border with Gunma Prefecture, where precious wetland alpine plants can be seen.
